Post # 3 Hm... healty or unhealthy foods?

I was thinking about what we learned in class, about all those trans and cis fats  or the carbs and proteins. I went grocery shopping with my mom this week and i kind of  wached what people do when buying food. Will they stop to look at the nutrition facts or they just got what was "a favorite" food or snack. It came to my attention that some older people tented to scan the nutritional fact on the packages but not quite as many as I expected.
I thought that for some people is not the first time they buy that kind of produce and it is normal not to waste time reading the nutritional facts. But others would just grab it and say "Let's just try it ,to see how it taste!" and it's obvious that they do not pay attention to what it contains.
I was also thinking , that there are some people who don't know the significance of the nutritional facts on the produce and maybe that is one reason why they don't pay attention to it. There is a huge difference between people that know about it and you see them reading and comparing products and the ones that go by the "taste".
It is also true that some people don't even care about it, and that's why they don't even want to know what it means. I think, that it could  be out of habit , or a bad addiction to unhealthy eating or large quantites. That's where eating desorders and obesity comes in, if one doesn't care now, neither would they tomorrow and later would be to late. Some become obese, some have high bood presure, and others are even worst and end up in hospitals. ,
So that's what i was wondering walking throught the store this week. I have to say that i was surprised to  see how many people are actually carefull on their choices of food.

  1. Great observation! I will try that! My 14 year old saw that documentary about how foods are packaged in the U.S. and he is beginning to question my choices when shopping. Oh, "Food Inc"is the name. He was disgusted and if everyone watched it, would that make a difference in our world? Probably only for a little while. I wish something could/would be done over these kinds of things...the adding of salt for flavor that is slowly killing us or the way that lipids are changed for the manufacturers convenience. Disgusting, really, but as a busy society, it is hard to change. (I promise to try, though!)
