I was talking to my friend Tatiana about smells and thinking how pople get used to new smells easily . It is kind of ineresting ,when entering a building or a different house than the one you live in. How a person senses the smell and seems hard to breath for a moment. It is the same when entering in a hospital or a store! It takes a while for a person to adapt and get used to it.
Some people get used faster and some need a while. But after all they just get used to it and don't sens it anymore. I never realy thought about it since i this week when i entered a building and thought for a second that i couldn't breath. But by the time i had to leave the building, i noticed that i didn't have any trouble breathing or didn't sense any difference in the air i was breathing in.
I was wondering if there is a scientific expenation for it, or that's just the way it is?.

ReplyDeleteOh I know what you mean! I am so self conscious about how my house smells with two idiotic cats that miss the litter box! I really dispise the urine and crap smell and am constantly cleaning up after them (know anyone who wants a beautiful rag doll cat or a fat hairy beast?) I know that I can smell other people's houses and even come home from my parent's house smelling like a fire place (not a bad smell) but they don't even notice it any more. I also notice people smells and I wonder why that particular person does not know they smell. I guess they are used to it, like you said. I also cannot understand how a person who wears perfume thinks that just because they are used to it, does not mean it does not make the rest of us sick. They seem to need more and more of it each time and God forbid we get on an elevator with her or sit by her at a movie theater. Yikes! I really hate that.
